Maharishi School

We are a progressive, consciousness-based international boarding school located in Fairfield, Iowa. Our Mission Statement is: To create an innovative Consciousness-Based educational environment where students think deeply and become creative, compassionate, contributing citizens of the world. Our Core Values are Respect, Responsibility, Service, Solutions, Transcendence--and one of our distinctions is that our students practice Yoga and Transcendental Meditation (TM) twice a day. We also explore principles of life and values of creative intelligence, emphasize a healthy lifestyle including an organic, vegetarian meal plan and exploration of holistic approaches to health and wellness plus a strong commitment to sustainable practices. About a quarter of our students are from international families and / or are boarding students from at least 20 different nationalities, ensuring that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are central to program and curriculum design. We offer a college preparatory program, including AP classes in upper school, plus support for English Language Learners. We are also affiliated with Maharishi International University and integrated with a progressive community with a lively arts scene and commitment to sustainable practices.
