  • Missão

Junior Achievement of Greater Washington empowers young people to own their economic success.

    Sobre Nós

From kindergarten through twelfth grade, Junior Achievement's programs provide financial literacy education experiences to students that are both unique and exciting, yet fully correlate with the requisite Standards of Learning. Learning about economics - whether it is a concept as simple as "wants and needs" or as complex as "modern international trade" - is a valuable and enriching experience for students.

Junior Achievement's programs are taught by trained volunteer role models from the local community - including business professionals, parents, and college students - using professionally designed and rigorously evaluated curriculum materials. Programs are presented by JA's volunteers for 30-45 minutes each week for five to seven weeks, with the exact time commitments dependent upon the grade level of the students.

Junior Achievement's programs are always offered free of charge, at absolutely no expense to the students, educators, or schools. They're easy to implement, and volunteers will receive ongoing support from the JA staff throughout the program.

Numerous opportunities are available throughout the school year in the following areas: Washington, DC, Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax County.
