Social Model Recovery Systems has operated United Coalition East Prevention Project (UCEPP) in the Skid Row neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles since 1996. UCEPP’s mission is to engage the most vulnerable communities to challenge systemic conditions and social disparities that threaten a healthy environment through a community-led movement, using grassroots research, assessment, and innovative approaches to inspire social justice, equity, and positive change. Our priority is to reduce problems associated with alcohol and other other drugs. At the core of our work are people that are most impacted, leading an initiative to transform and ultimately improve their quality of life.
