NAMIWalks Los Angeles County

NAMIWalks Los Angeles County is the largest free mental health event in Los Angeles County.

• We walk to erase the stigma and social exclusions that prevent treatment and recovery for individuals who suffer with severe mental illness.
• We walk to raise public awareness that mental illnesses are illnesses like any other, that wellness and recovery do happen for people who live with a mental illness.
• We walk to support NAMI Signature Educaional Programs that help families, friends and individuals with a diagnosis of a severe mental illness but need support, education and advocacy to improve lives. All of NAMI programs are provided free of charge.

In 2012 NAMIWalks will take place on October 6, 2012 on the Third Street Promenade, it is a 5K walk with family, friends, agencies and businesses participating from across the county.
