The Fund for the Public Interest Chapel Hill

The Fund for the Public Interest runs grassroots campaigns to raise money, recruit members, and do political work for some of the nation's top environmental and progressive organizations. Over the past 29 years we've worked with dozens of organizations, spoken with millions of people, and raised more than $500 million to help them fight and win campaigns. In Chapel Hill we work with Environment North Carolina, NC PIRG, and the Human Rights Campaign. At the moment we are working with the Human Rights Campaign to end employment discrimination, and later in the winter we will be working with Environment North Carolina.

The Human Rights Campaign was founded in 1980 and is the largest gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender advocacy organization. HRC works to ensure that GLBT people are guarenteed of their basic equl rights, and can be open, honest, and safe at home, at work, and in the community.

Environment North Carolina is a statewide, citizen-based, environmental advocacy organization. Environment works to protect the places we love, advance the environmental values we share, and win real results for our environment.
