Since 1924, the American Heart Association has been combating cardiovascular disease and stroke, the nation’s #1 and #3 leading causes of death. We need your help.

Thousands of people from across the Greater Washington Region will descend on the National Mall for the Start! Heart Walk, a signature event of the American Heart Association that raises funds for research and education programs across the country. Ninety-three cents of every dollar donated to this event goes directly back into the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association, helping us build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
