The Port Chest/Town of Rye Council of Community Services, Inc., was founded by a group of concerned citizens, who felt more community awareness and participation was necessary to insure that unmet needs of the residents, young and old, would be addressed through private and voluntary support. The Council was incorporated on April 22, 1974. . The Council continues to act as a coordinating agency among several agencies and presently supports the following: Senior Network, Youth Coalition, Hispanic/Latino Network, Adolescent Sexual Health Task Force, Housing Task Force, and Arts Council.
