Sobre Nós

The Los Angeles Education Corps (LAEC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 2008.   It is the charter management organization overseeing College Bridge Academy (CBA) charter school and The Education Corps (TEC)/Saito High School. We educate and support young people, ages 14-24, who are looking for a second chance to earn their high school diploma. Each charter school has multiple campuses within the urban core of Greater LA, and each campus partners with one or more high quality nonprofits to provide wraparound services to its students. These nonprofits include conservation corps agencies, YouthBuild programs, and Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs. All LAEC campuses are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Located in impoverished pockets of Los Angeles that are notorious for crime, gangs and large failing schools, LAEC provides seven small learning communities of approximately 100 to 130 students each for students who need a second chance to obtain their high school diploma. Each campus provides an oasis for young people who understand that their value is not dictated by their environment. Students who did not finish high school (for any reason) as well as those seeking an alternative to the under-resourced schools in their neighborhoods are equally welcome.
