KARSH FAMILY SOCIAL SERVICE CENTER INC

Located in one of Los Angeles’s densest and most diverse neighborhoods, the Karsh Center offers multiple services under one roof in collaboration with 27 organizations from across the city. Our services include legal, dental care, vision care, and mental health services, as well as childcare referral, ESL and citizenship, literacy, and nutrition and food insecurity programs. Most of our clients reside in surrounding neighborhoods, but we also have served individuals from other parts of Los Angeles City and County (currently representing more than 300 zip codes), as well as hosting a weekly Sunday food distribution in Santa Monica at the People Concern.

To provide these services, the Karsh Center relies on and creates opportunities for volunteers, recognizing that connecting those who are more fortunate to those who are in need is a uniquely powerful way of repairing the world. Through our state-of-the-art Volunteer Engagement Program, Wilshire Boulevard Temple congregants and other community volunteers are actively integrated into the work and goals of the Karsh Center.
