    Edgewood Community Farm, a nonprofit in the heart of Washington, D.C, operates on a membership-based model. Volunteers contribute to running the farm in exchange for access to the property, produce, flowers, mushrooms, and other products. The vision of the farm is to serve the community, including the neighborhood, farm members, and local shelters and organizations; to host community work days; and to provide a social area for members and the community. The farm broke ground in summer 2022. Currently, we are building out a wide variety of infrastructure, including growing rows, paths, etc. The farm, encompassing 7,500 square feet in D.C.’s Edgewood neighborhood, will include vegetables and flowers; tea garden; pollinator garden; compost station; berry patch; mushroom patch; and fruit trees.
