Breathe Free: OR LGBTQ Tobacco Prevention and Education Program

Sobre Nós

Breathe Free is dedicated to reducing LGBTQ tobacco use in Oregon through education and advocacy. We understand that all LGBTQ people are impacted by tobacco use in our communities and by persistent targeting of LGBTQ people by the tobacco industry. Our goals are: · To promote safe and smokefree places for LGBTQ people to socialize with each other; · To advocate that LGBTQ events and organizations not accept funding from tobacco companies; and · To work with school-based and queer youth organizations (such as Gay Straight Alliances and the Oregon Queer Youth Conference) to include tobacco prevention education in their programming. Breathe Free is funded by the Oregon Department of Human Services Tobacco Prevention and Education Program as part of a Multicultural Council of programs that serve populations disproportionately affected by tobacco use and exposure.
