The Martinez Street Women's Center is committed to developing a community space that provides information and services which support the active participation of women in the pursuit of their own physical, emotional, and social well-being. We serve as a resource center providing education, referrals, advocacy, and health care services for women, their partners, and their families. Currently we have two major programs: Girl World and the Promotoras. Girl World is an after-school and summer program for girls ages 9 to 14. The Promotoras are local women who provide grassroots health education programs in the community and at the Center. We also currently run a nutrition class for minority women, a resource library, and a social service referral service.
