Accountable Representatives of America

Purpose:

The purpose of the organization is to institute an effective framework for formal public participation directly in the legislative process of our government. By doing so, the result should be a more responsive governing system, facilitating interaction between people and their elected officials. Citizens would be given the opportunity and means to cast their “votes” on any particular bill, with the understanding that their representatives would monitor and act according to the citizens’ direction.

Mission Statement:

The overall mission is to provide information and educational opportunities to the general public about the role of our elected representatives at all levels of government and promote public engagement with those representatives. The organization activities will center around this mission by producing and providing informational content via website, video, social media, seminars, community meetings, and similar means. The organization will seek direct involvement by our elected representatives to participate in these educational activities and facilitate direct communication between the public and their elected representatives.

In carrying out its mission, the organization will not engage in partisan influence campaigns or otherwise favor any particular political issues, but rather, focus on the process of engagement and communication between the public and elected representatives.
