The Disu Foundation is looking to fill a volunteer position as an Operations Manager to join our dynamic nonprofit team and help drive our mission forward through strategic operations management and program development.
About The Role
We are seeking a volunteer to take on a comprehensive operations role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. This position offers excellent experience for someone looking to apply their business education in the nonprofit sector while making a meaningful impact in our community.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Management:
- Design and implement a comprehensive volunteer onboarding strategy
- Develop training materials and orientation processes for new volunteers
- Create systems to track volunteer engagement and program effectiveness
- Coordinate volunteer activities and ensure smooth program operations
Financial Operations:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
- Prepare monthly and quarterly balance reports
- Assist with budget development and financial planning
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and donor requirements
Systems & Process Optimization:
- Design and implement efficient workflow systems across the organization
- Create standard operating procedures for key organizational functions
- Evaluate and improve existing processes to enhance operational efficiency
- Maintain databases and organizational management systems
Strategic Support:
- Assist with project planning and execution
- Support grant reporting and compliance activities
- Collaborate with leadership on organizational development initiatives
Ideal Candidate
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with financial analysis and accounting principles
- Experience with project management and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous nonprofit or volunteer management experience
- Familiarity with nonprofit accounting software (QuickBooks, etc.)
- Experience with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, etc.)
- Background in operations management or business process improvement
- Passion for nonprofit mission-driven work
