WISE Capital Campaign Team Member

Location: Hybrid (Detroit-based preferred; virtual options available)

Commitment: Ongoing through campaign phases

Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per week

Team Size Goal: 5–10 volunteers

Role Overview

W.I.S.E. Partnership is building a Capital Campaign Team to help raise funds for the development of the W.I.S.E. Central Hub, a multi-acre campus dedicated to cultural arts, workforce development, youth programming, and community space.

All Capital Campaign Team members share responsibility for fundraising, donor engagement, and sponsorship development, while also contributing strategic and creative ideas to help reach ambitious fundraising goals.

This is a collaborative, results-oriented volunteer role for individuals who are excited by strategy, relationship-building, and mission-driven fundraising.

Shared Responsibilities (Interwoven Across the Team)

Each Capital Campaign Team member will actively participate in:

• Identifying and cultivating donors, sponsors, and partners
• Making warm introductions, outreach calls, or emails to potential supporters
• Supporting individual giving, corporate sponsorships, and major gifts
• Helping plan and execute creative fundraising strategies (events, campaigns, challenges, matching gifts)
• Assisting with campaign messaging, storytelling, and donor communications
• Participating in regular strategy meetings and progress check-ins
• Helping steward existing donors and supporters

Team members may also lean into specific strengths such as:

• Corporate sponsorship outreach
• Grant and foundation prospecting
• Event-based fundraising
• Peer-to-peer fundraising
• Campaign planning and tracking

Who We’re Looking For

• Individuals comfortable with relationship-building and outreach
• Experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, business development, or nonprofit work is a plus
• Strategic thinkers who enjoy collaborative problem-solving
• Passion for community development, equity, and Detroit-based impact
• Willingness to actively participate in fundraising efforts—not just advisory roles
