Assisteo Hospice's Volunteer Program, where we make friends and create smiles.
We are currently accepting applications for patient care volunteers across the greater Phoenix/Valley area.
Are you caring, compassionate and enjoy spending time with seniors? Being a Patient Care Volunteer with Assisteo Hospice could be for you. Many of our hospice patients spend much of their days alone and could really use a friend. You could be that friend.
Patient Care Volunteers provide much needed emotional and practical support to meet the non-medical needs of patients and their families - friendship, support, encouragement, socialization and companionship.
Training is provided to teach principles, responsibilities, and best practices on being a friend to our hospice patients. Visits can include things like sharing stories, playing games, crafts, watching TV together, pushing patients in wheelchair outside, etc. Visits are typically once per week for about an hour. Also, we try to assign you to a patient that resides close to you.
Not only do our patient care volunteers make a tremendous difference in the lives of our patients, but our volunteers receive so much as well from the time spent with their patients.
Our main admin office is in Phoenix (44 th St & Thomas), but we provide patient care for most of Maricopa County.
If this sounds of interest to you, I'd like to work out a day/time to connect on the phone to start. I can answer questions, share more details, talk about our on-boarding process, etc.
Thank you for considering being a vital part of the Assisteo Hospice team.
