Over half of US inmates have access to secure prison tablets with one or more Learning Management System apps installed on them. The LMS we use sort-of operates like Coursera but for prisoners. Given that the United States locks up approximately 2 million people at any given point in time, it means our educational content has the potential to reach an audience of over 1 million presently incarcerated individuals.

They go through our content faster than we can generated it and we need help keeping up with demand.

Historically our main focus has been STEM education and vocational training for the skilled trades, but we cover all sorts of other topics like Dungeons and Dragons and International Studies.

While we started with a focus on incarcerated learners, we have started making our educational content available online for free for anyone anywhere to access.

We have also begun a translation effort to reach an international audience with a focus on school-aged children who aren't currently in school.

For example, over 1 million school-aged children in India are not currently enrolled in school; over 700,000 are from a single state, Uttar Pradesh. Most of these children speak Urdu or Hindi as a first language.

Following armed conflict in Myanmar/Burma a significant amount of families and children were displaced and are no longer able to participate in traditional schools. Most of these children speak Burmese as a first language.

As we increase our offerings of translated educational materials, we are working on partnering with local NGOs to facilitate delivery. They would be able to pre-load a smartphone or tablet with educational content in one or more languages of their choice and send it to wherever it is needed most along with a solar charger.

Essentially brining school to the children instead of children to the school.
