    This is an opportunity to support the passionate volunteers who contribute their valuable time to our mission to make North Texas a No-Kill community. This role will help ensure volunteering at DPA! is a “PAWSOME” experience for everyone! As our Rewards & Recognition Coordinator, you’ll support the Pawsome Person Program. You’ll also develop ideas to expand rewards & recognition programming, support the People Team, and have the opportunity to contribute to other HR initiatives.

    Team: HR/Volunteer, People Team

    Location: Remote/Virtual: Virtual from anywhere, understanding we are in the CST time zone.

    Time Commitment: Flexible, generally between 1-3 hours per week.

    Compensation: This is a Volunteer Position with no monetary compensation.

    Reports to: Manager of Recruitment and Recognition

    Works with: This role will have frequent contact with members of the Volunteer team. Will also interact with an array of directors and volunteers across all teams at DPA!

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Own, coordinate, and support DPA’s Pawsome Recognition Program.
    • Provide timely updates to the Manager of Recruitment & Recognition. Perform monthly tasks in a timely manner by established deadlines, including emailing department directors, contacting selected volunteer winners, documenting and tracking progress, and posting the winners on our internal DPA Facebook page.
    • Follow up with department leaders and nominated Pawesome volunteers ensuring their timely responses for meeting monthly deadlines
    • Review the DPA email on a regular basis to check for updates and email responses.
    • Generate ideas for growing the rewards and recognition programs and opportunities at DPA!
    • Support the Volunteer Team with projects such as recordkeeping, training materials, and other HR initiatives, as needed.
    • If local, attend occasional DPA! events to get to know our volunteers and programs.

    Secondary Responsibilities:

    • When needed, support the Recruitment function as Recruitment Assistant. Provide backup assistance to the Lead Recruiter, ensuring volunteer placement is a good fit for individuals skills and goals.
    • Perform recruitment tasks that match volunteer applications with appropriate volunteer position opportunities based on fit/data. Tasks include:
      • Update and maintain the applicant tracking spreadsheet (Google Spreadsheet, ensuring status update communications with team leads and applicants are being tracked and recorded.
      • Ensure applicants and candidates are being followed up via Gmail in a timely manner using the Volunteer inbox.

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Professional experience in Human Resources, Program Management, Volunteer Administration, or closely related functions, highly encouraged.
    • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, required.
    • Organized and detail-oriented with attention to accuracy and DPA! guidelines when sending written communications.
    • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
    • Ability to work independently in a virtual setting, while maintaining open dialogue and a team-centered approach; provide updates to HR/Volunteer Team Leadership frequently
    • Proficiency with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Workspace applications.
    • Access to reliable internet and computer device
    • Must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfare.
