    SEVA Travelers spend 4 -5 days with the organization (mornings on-site, afternoons exploring--enough time to collect information for the project). They continue the engagement virtually, meeting via Zoom for 1-3 months to complete the deliverable

    By sharing our expertise with NGOs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), SEVA Travelers’ pro bono consultants, coaches and trainers are empowering the next generation of social entrepreneurs with the skills they need to succeed.

    Pro-bono Consulting Services

    S.E.V.A. Travelers offers great nonprofits in Asia, Latin America, and Africa free consulting services to achieve greater scale and impact. This pro bono support includes:

    • Grant proposal writing (and training staff how to write winning grant proposals)
    • Foundation and corporate funding prospect research
    • Fundraising strategy development
    • Website design and development
    • Social media, marketing, and communications support
    • Fundraising Databases/software
    • Designing Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation systems

    SEVA Travelers has partnered with GlobalGiving to identify great nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries. Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. Thanks to this exciting partnership, S.E.V.A. Travelers offers over 180 host sites to choose from in about 30 low- and middle-income countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa (for a complete list of available projects organized by region and country please see https://www.sevatravelers.org/currentprojects)

    SEVA Travelers offers 11 host organizations to choose from in India, spanning five different tourist destinations--Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), Bengaluru (formerly called Bangalore), Guwahati in the Northeastern State of Assam, Kolkata (AKA Calcutta), and Dharamshala, home of the Dalai Lama.

    These vetted and verified NGOs include:

    The Opentree Foundation – Development through Play (Mumbai)

    Focuses on child development through play-based learning and creative education programs that foster emotional intelligence, teamwork, and confidence among underprivileged children.

    Animedh Charitable Trust (Mumbai)

    Empowers women and marginalized youth through vocational training, financial literacy, and employment programs designed to promote sustainable livelihoods.

    Light of Life Trust (Mumbai)

    Works to break the cycle of poverty by providing holistic education, life skills training, and community support to rural and disadvantaged youth.

    QMed Knowledge Foundation (Mumbai)

    Enhances healthcare quality by improving access to reliable medical research and empowering healthcare professionals through training in evidence-based medicine.

    Margadarshi The Association for Physically Challenged (Bengaluru)

    Supports individuals with physical disabilities through rehabilitation, education, and advocacy programs that promote inclusion and accessibility.

    Sampark (Bengaluru)

    Advances gender equality and rural development through programs focused on women’s empowerment, financial inclusion, and education for marginalized communities.

    Agastya International Foundation (Bengaluru)

    Transforms education through hands-on science learning, bringing mobile labs and experiential teaching to rural schools across India.

    Tiljala Society for Human and Educational Development (Kolkata)

    Works with urban poor and marginalized communities to provide access to education, health services, and vocational training for long-term empowerment.

    Seven Sisters Development Assistance (Guwahati, Assam)

    Focuses on gender justice and sustainable livelihoods in Northeast India, supporting Indigenous women and youth through entrepreneurship and advocacy initiatives.

    Parijat Academy (Guwahati, Assam)

    Provides free education, shelter, and community programs for children from remote and disadvantaged areas in Assam, fostering social inclusion and empowerment.

    Norbulingka Institute of Tibetan Culture (Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh)

    Preserves and promotes Tibetan art, language, and culture through education, sustainable employment, and traditional craft-based enterprises.
