Bike MS: Los Angeles Coastal Challenge is returning for an unforgettable weekend in 2026, and this year is especially meaningful. We are celebrating the 25th anniversary of this iconic ride along the California coast. Volunteers play an essential role in creating the energy, support, and community spirit that make this event so special.

About Us

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is committed to creating a world free of MS. We bring people together to raise funds for breakthrough research, provide direct support to people living with MS, and unite communities around a powerful and life changing mission. Events like Bike MS rely on volunteers who show up with enthusiasm, care, and a willingness to make a difference.

About the Event

On May 30 and May 31, 2026, cyclists will take on a beautiful coastal route starting and finishing at San Buenaventura State Beach in Ventura. Riders will travel through Malibu, Rincon, Ventura, and Ojai across more than one hundred fifty miles of stunning scenery. This weekend is filled with waterfront views, community spirit, and meaningful moments that celebrate both our mission and the people who support it.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are many volunteer roles available, and there is truly something for everyone. A few examples include:

• Rest stop support with snacks, hydration, and encouragement
• Route guides and cheer stations along the course
• Festival area help with check in, hospitality, and general support
• Start and finish line teams that help welcome and motivate riders
• Operations and logistics assistance throughout the weekend

No experience is needed. We will provide everything you need to feel confident and ready.

How to Sign Up

All volunteers must register through our official Bike MS volunteer page.

Simply choose the role that interests you and complete the short registration form. Once finished, you will receive a confirmation message along with future event details.

Volunteer Guidelines

To help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, here are a few things to know before event day:

• Sign Up and Shifts
  • All volunteers must register through our official Bike MS volunteer page. Each volunteer will be assigned a set shift, and we ask that you arrive on time and plan to stay for the full duration.
• Day of Information
  • Details about parking, arrival times, and responsibilities will be emailed as the event approaches. Please keep an eye on your inbox for updates.
• Dress Code
  • Closed‑toed shoes are required for safety. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily throughout your shift.
• Youth Volunteers
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The accompanying adult must also be registered as a volunteer when applicable.
• General Expectations
  • Be friendly, flexible, and ready to help where needed. Follow instructions from event staff and volunteer leaders. Most importantly, enjoy yourself because your support truly makes a difference.
