UI/UX Design Lead – Wearable Safety Technology Platform

Location: Remote (U.S.)
Position: Volunteer (20–25 hours/week)
About the Role
LoopRoots Foundation is seeking a UI/UX Design Lead to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging user experiences for our Wearable Safety Technology Platform. This role will lead the design of our mobile applications, web platform, and administrative portal, ensuring every interaction is user-centered, visually consistent, and easy to navigate.
Working closely with the Director of Product, Technical Lead, Full Stack Software Developer, Mobile Developer, and AI & Machine Learning Engineer, you will transform ideas into thoughtful, user-friendly designs that support individuals during critical moments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the user experience and interface design for the platform.
- Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Design responsive interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Develop and maintain a consistent design system and component library.
- Conduct user research and usability testing.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Improve accessibility and user experience across all products.
- Maintain visual consistency across the platform and branding.
- Iterate designs based on user feedback and testing.
Qualifications
- Experience as a UI/UX Designer or Product Designer.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating web and mobile application design.
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems.
- Understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for designing technology that creates meaningful social impact.
