Volunteer Remote Adoption Intake Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Remote Adoption Intake Coordinator to join our team at Chester’s Corner Animal Rescue.

Our mission is to provide abandoned animals with medical care, emotional support, and a path toward finding loving, permanent homes. Every effort we make is driven by compassion and a commitment to the welfare of animals in need.

How You Will Contribute:

Purpose:

Conduct initial screening and interviews for prospective adopters, ensuring a safe and suitable placement for animals.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and manage adoption inquiries.
• Conduct phone or email interviews with prospective adopters.
• Assess adopter fit, experience, and home environment.
• Approve meet-and-greets for animals once initial screening is complete.
• Pass notes and recommendations to leadership for final approval.

Immediate Ownership:

This role owns the initial screening and approval for meet-and-greets. Final adoption approvals are handled by leadership.

Required Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of prior experience conducting phone or in-person interviews, specifically for screening prospective adopters or foster homes in a rescue organization.
• Strong professional communication skills (email and phone).
• Ability to assess applicant fit, make sound judgment calls, and ensure alignment with organizational values.
• Self-starter with strong initiative — able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Comfortable managing confidential information.
• Must have a working phone and computer with reliable internet.
• Must reside in the United States and be available during Pacific Standard Time hours.

Commitment Details:

• Approximately 2–4 hours per week.
• Flexible scheduling.
• Work is completed remotely.
