We are seeking a detail-oriented volunteer to help us research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with our mission. This role focuses on research and vetting, not grant writing.
We are very mindful of volunteer time and have intentionally designed this role to be low-pressure, flexible, and well-structured.
- Research potential grant opportunities using grant databases, foundation websites, and corporate giving pages
- Identify up to 5 well-vetted grant prospects per month
- Log findings in a shared Google Sheet (template provided), including:
- funder name
- focus area
- geographic eligibility
- deadline (or rolling)
- brief note (2–3 sentences) on why the grant may be a good fit for Life of Kai
That’s it — no applications, no outreach, no writing proposals.

This is a research and prospecting role, not grant writing. Volunteers help us identify funding opportunities that are a good fit for Life of Kai's mission and programs. You will work independently on a flexible schedule and log findings in a shared Google Sheet. Identify up to 5 potential grantors per month using grant databases, foundation websites, community foundations and corporate giving pages. For each prospect, record : funder name, focus area, geographic eligibility, deadline or rolling status application and 2-3 sentence note on why it may be a good fit. You should be comfortable with basic online research and familiar with Google Sheets. No grant writing necessary.
