Data Quality Associate

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join a critical 6-month data project. The majority of the output is African-American imagery. In this role, you will help us audit, categorize/filter, and review a specialized dataset of over one million images. Your keen eye for detail will directly contribute to our project's success, ensuring every image is evaluated with high accuracy.

This is a high-impact volunteer opportunity perfect for individuals interested with a growing technology startup based out of Atlanta. It is perfect for individuals looking for hands-on experience with being a content creator utilizing generative AI, digital asset management, and professional photo editing.

Project Duration: minimum 6 months.

Daily Commitment: 4-8 hours per day.

Schedule Options: Monday–Friday or 7 days a week depending on your preference.

Location: Remote (Work from home).

Key Responsibilities

Detailed Evaluation: The role involves collaborating with operations, analytics, and technology teams to refine data standards, update data entry guidelines, and support data-related projects. The Data Quality Associate also assists in generating routine reports, monitoring data quality metrics, and suggesting process improvements that better data reliability.

• AI-Powered Photo Editing: Dedicate one day per week to utilizing Adobe Firefly to edit, enhance, and manipulate selected images based on project guidelines.
• Data Logging: The role requires at least 30-60 seconds per asset to carefully analyze, tag, or moderate data; accurately document/record findings and flag ambiguous images using our platform.

ML Only: If you believe you can fix a majority of the images using a model, we can provide the GCS infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to maintain deep concentration during repetitive, detail-oriented data tasks (ex. identify and interpret patterns, trends, and cultural context, errors or inconsistencies).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and thorough documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and clarifying data requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.
• Comfort working with repetitive data tasks while maintaining high quality standards and following established procedures.
• Previous experience in data entry, data quality, operations, or a similar role is preferred but not required; willingness to learn data tools and best practices.

Skills Needed

• Familiarity with Design Tools: The experience or a strong interest in learning generative AI tools and photo editing suite software (i.e., Adobe Firefly). Proficiency with spreadsheets and data tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets; familiarity with databases or SQL is a plus).
• Reliable Equipment: The access to a computer capable of running browser-based design software and a stable, high-speed internet connection.
