Our communications team plays a vital role in amplifying our mission, strengthening our global voice, and ensuring that our messaging is powerful, ethical, and culturally grounded.

We are seeking a forward‑thinking AI Communications Specialist to help us expand our impact through innovative and accessible digital storytelling.

Position Overview

The Volunteer AI Communications Specialist will use AI‑powered tools to support WOCOTM’s communication strategy, enhance content creation, and strengthen our digital presence. This includes drafting internal and external communications, creating multimedia content, supporting campaigns, and assisting with automation—all while reflecting WOCOTM’s values of dignity, empowerment, and community engagement.

This is an ideal role for someone who is creative, tech‑savvy, and passionate about leveraging AI for social good.

Key Responsibilities

• Use AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Canva AI, Adobe Express AI) to support communication workflows.
• Draft newsletters, press releases, announcements, speeches, scripts, social media content, blog articles, and email campaigns.
• Support video and multimedia communication using AI avatar/video tools when needed.
• Assist with automation of communication tasks (emails, reminders, content scheduling) using AI-friendly tools.
• Help maintain a consistent brand voice across platforms, ensuring content is trauma-informed, culturally respectful, and aligned with WOCOTM’s mission.
• Strengthen audience engagement by analyzing trends, optimizing messaging, and preparing performance insights.
• Convert complex program updates, data, or reports into clear, accessible messaging for donors, partners, volunteers, and the public.
• Collaborate with Communications, Programs, Digital Media, and Leadership teams to support storytelling initiatives.
• Manage and update content libraries, templates, and communication guides.
• Uphold confidentiality, ethical storytelling, and privacy standards when sharing community stories.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in communications, digital media, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related fields.
• Comfort using AI tools to enhance writing, editing, video production, and content planning.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Teams, Canva, Clipchamp, or similar platforms.
• Ability to translate program information into inspiring and easy‑to‑understand content.
• A commitment to WOCOTM’s principles of equity, empowerment, dignity, and trauma‑informed engagement.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive in a remote environment.

Bonus Skills:

Knowledge of analytics tools, SEO, email marketing platforms, or brand management.
