Hospice Volunteer Opportunities – Prairie Wind Hospice
Prairie Wind Hospice is seeking compassionate individuals to serve as hospice volunteers in communities across eastern Kansas. Hospice volunteers provide meaningful support to patients and families by offering presence, companionship, and comfort during a very important time in life.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Volunteer Opportunities May Include:
- Companionship Volunteers – Conversation, listening, and emotional support
- Quiet Presence Volunteers – Sitting with patients who may not wish to talk
- Reading Volunteers – Reading books, letters, or other materials aloud
- Music Volunteers – Playing an instrument or singing
- Faith / Spiritual Support Volunteers – Providing spiritual companionship (non-clinical)
- Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteers – Peer support for veteran patients
- Caregiver Support / Respite Volunteers – Offering brief relief to caregivers
- Administrative / Office Volunteers – Assisting with projects and organization
No medical experience is required. Volunteers from all backgrounds are welcome, and training and support are provided.
