Mini Farmer Class Preschool Instructor (Ages 0-5)
Role Summary: We're looking for a nurturing and patient Farm Educator to lead our new Mini Farmer classes for babies and toddlers. This unique role is perfect for a gentle individual who is passionate about early childhood development and the outdoors. As the instructor, you will facilitate a safe, sensory-rich environment where our youngest students and their caregivers can explore the farm and connect with God’s creation through touch, sound, and gentle interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate Sensory Exploration: Guide babies and toddlers in safe, age-appropriate sensory experiences, such as feeling the texture of hay, touching garden soil, and hearing the sounds of the farm.
Ensure Safety: Maintain a secure and clean environment at all times, ensuring all interactions between the children and animals are gentle and closely supervised.
Foster Parent-Child Bonding: Encourage and support caregivers as they explore the farm alongside their child, making the class a special bonding experience.
Prepare Class Stations: Set up engaging, toddler-friendly activity stations focused on farm themes, like "chick-petting time" or "planting a bean."
Manage Class Flow: Gently guide the group through the different farm activities with a calm and welcoming presence.
Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience working with infants and toddlers in an educational or caregiving setting.
Patience & Nurturing Demeanor: A calm and patient personality is essential for this age group.
Knowledge: An understanding of early childhood development and the importance of sensory learning.
Character: A commitment to our ministry's faith-centered mission and values, and a passion for sharing God's creation.
Schedule: This is a part-time position teaching Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with potential for additional days/hours.
