POSITION SUMMARY
The Resident Assistant (RA) supports the Resident Manager in implementing the Sheltering Grace Ministry (SGM) Program. This role provides direct support to residents and assists in coordinating individualized Life Plans and program curriculum. The RA helps foster a structured, safe, and supportive environment that promotes residents’ spiritual, emotional, and life-skills development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are representative of the role and are not intended to be all-inclusive:
- Provide support to residents with daily living activities to encourage stability and personal growth
- Monitor resident compliance with program guidelines, schedules, and expectations
- Document and report all incidents, concerns, and non-routine events to the Resident Manager in a timely manner
- Communicate resident progress, concerns, and recommendations for development or corrective action to appropriate staff
- Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and program activities
- Assist with the administration of drug screenings in accordance with organizational policies
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of shared living spaces in compliance with program standards
- Conduct routine room inspections and document findings as required
- Assist in the development and monitoring of resident Life Plans and exit strategies
- Support residents in developing independent living skills, including household management (e.g., cleaning, laundry, shopping, and basic upkeep)
- Maintain accurate records, including calendars, logs, and required documentation
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned

PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform light physical tasks (e.g., walking, standing, light lifting up to 20 lbs)
- Ability to respond to resident needs in a residential setting, which may include evenings or weekends
