Shella Environmental Youth Group is at a pivotal turning point. Having successfully implemented the Leta Shamba Nyumbani (Bring the Farm Home) initiative, we have proven that community-led, climate-smart agriculture can restore dignity to the elderly and keep children in school. We are now seeking a Strategic Grant Writer & Fundraising Lead to help us secure the technical and financial support needed to scale our impact across Kilifi County.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant Research: Identify and vet international and local grant opportunities from foundations and government agencies focused on SDGs 1, 2, 5, 13, and 17.
- Proposal Development: Lead the writing and submission of high-quality grant proposals, using our organizational profile and proven impact data.
- Fundraising Strategy: Collaborate with our Chairperson to refine our fundraising goals
- Partnership Outreach: Draft inquiry letters and pitch decks for potential corporate and international partners to foster new collaborations.
- Reporting & Compliance: Assist in developing frameworks to report back to future donors on project milestones and budget utilization.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in grant writing, professional fundraising, or non-profit development.
- Writing Excellence: Exceptional ability to craft persuasive narratives that connect environmental conservation with social empowerment.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the landscape of climate-smart agriculture, food security, or youth-led advocacy is highly preferred.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to see the "big picture" of SEYG’s mission and translate it into a sustainable funding roadmap.
