Two Bit Circus Foundation is seeking volunteers for the Hawthorne School District's annual STEAM Expo — a free, district-wide community event celebrating science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
Hawthorne School District serves over 7,000 students in south Los Angeles County, where 88% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and over 90% are students of color. All district schools are Title I. For many of these students and families, the STEAM Expo is their primary opportunity to engage with hands-on STEM activities, meet working professionals in technical fields, and see creative and scientific careers as something real and accessible. Events like this don't happen without volunteers.
The Expo features student invention showcases, live performances, educational demonstrations, and Two Bit Circus Foundation's interactive circus — arcade games, make-and-takes, and engineering challenges.
