The opportunity below is for an unpaid volunteer staff position with Bella Care Hospice.
Bella Care Hospice provides compassionate care to patients - and their families - during and after the final stage of their life. Volunteers serve an important purpose by giving their time.
Bella Care has an office in the Cleveland area that could benefit from regular volunteer assistance.
Volunteers are needed who are able to spend a minimum of 2 hours per week at our office. Hopefully more!
Volunteers must be 18 years of age (16 or 17 years of age with parental consent), have their own transportation (and insurance, if appropriate), pass a background investigation (provided by Bella Care Hospice), and successfully complete volunteer orientation and training (also provided by Bella Care Hospice).
The ideal volunteer candidate will have general knowledge for business office administration, be dependable and communicative, and have availability Monday through Friday anytime between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
Volunteers must: be respectful of staff and other volunteers they interact with; complete their scheduled appointments or reschedule them promptly; document their time appropriately; follow Bella Care’s policies and legal requirements.
Bella Care Hospice is required by Federal law to have a volunteer program for our patients. Volunteers may serve our patients indirectly by providing administrative support.
Volunteers provide general office support (including documentation, filing, answering telephones), bereavement support (mailings, bereavement phone calls), assist in planning special Celebrate Life! events for patients, and may support other hospice services (social work, chaplain, marketing) based on their skills, knowledge, and interest. Hospice volunteers may earn community service credit for volunteering while others gain valuable experience and contacts in the health care industry.
