We all know the saying, "when you look good, you feel good" and for those on hospice, getting a fresh haircut and style can be a tremendous boost to one's self-image and overall outlook. With the help of a volunteer hairstylist or barber, patients can feel more like themselves again - giving them a sense of beauty and dignity in their final months.

Most hospice patients are unable to leave their homes, so getting a haircut for the first time in a long time can help them feel wonderful and pampered. At Lily Hospice, we care for our patients in the comfort of their own home. For some, home might be a private residence, while others might reside in an assisted living or nursing home/health center setting. Volunteer hairstylists and barbers are needed throughout Milwaukee County to help us meet this occasional specialized request.
