    Descrição

WE ARE SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS IN POLK AND YAMHILL COUNTIES

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that engages your heart mind and spirit in caring for others in your own community? Join the Willamette Vital Health Volunteer Team! You may provide respite care and emotional support to someone with a terminal illness and support their families with companionship. Volunteers can also help by reading to patients, running errands, or just listening. Our youth volunteers (12 years and older) can make a difference by helping others through special projects in the office while adding Community Service or Volunteer Work to their resumes. Volunteers may want to help promote hospice care education through health fairs and special events or clerical support. We need you! Come join our caring family. We serve our patients in Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties - So we are looking for volunteers in all areas!!

COME VOLUNTEER FOR THE ONLY NOT FOR PROFIT HOSPICE IN THE SALEM AREA!!

HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS ARE ORDINARY PEOPLE WITH EXTRAORDINARY LOVE!!

Our mission at Willamette Vital Health is to enhance the quality of life for terminally ill persons and their families, to provide bereavement support for the caregivers and families of our patients and members of the community, and to educate the community about the hospice philosophy and prognosis.

Our volunteers do a variety of things:

    PATIENT CARE

You can give respite to the family/caregivers of our patients. This is usually spending 3-4 hours per week the patient while the caregiver gets a break. You can also visit patients in facilities. This is usually 1 hour per week. You can read with patient, play board games with patients, or just simply sitting with a patient holding their hands.

    GRIEF CARE

You can assist families that have experienced a death of a loved one. You can telephone our bereaved families to give support, help co-facilitate our six week grief support groups for children and adults. You can help at our Memorial Events and help with our children's camp

    OUTREACH/COMMUNITY SUPPORT

You can help in the office with mailings, stuffing envelopes, gathering statistics, assisting with special projects, filing and data entry. You can also participate in our Outreach which is going out and educating the community on hospice. Assisting with special events and fundraising.

    OFFICE SUPPORT

We have many opportunities helping us in the office with mailings, packet assembly, data entry, phone calls and much more

    YOUTH VOLUNTEERS

In addition to the satisfaction of fulfilling a genuine need, volunteers experience the thrill of meeting the real people who were part of important events in American history.

    PET THERAPY

Volunteers can support our patients and family with Pet Therapy. There is additional certification required for this position

PET PEACE OF MIND VOLUNTEER You can help hospice families care for their pets by taking the dog for a walk, or transporting the cat to the vet. You can offer a temporary home for a patient’s beloved pet, or help raise funds at our annual Walk-n-Wag event in the fall.
