About the Role
Step Up DC (SUDC), Calvary Women's Services' job preparation program, assists women in Calvary's housing programs in gaining employment and financial security. SUDC participants have secured jobs in different fields such as IT support, retail, security, and hospitality.
As an SUDC Facilitator, you will play an impactful role in a resident’s journey toward independence and permanent housing. You will lead 60-minute classes during business hours (Monday–Thursday, typically scheduled between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM), providing essential support in areas such as:
- Resume building
- Job searching
- Interview preparation
- Mock interviewing
You will work in tandem with our Workforce Development Manager to review curriculum and prepare materials, ensuring you are fully supported and ready to host sessions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Weekly Instruction: Facilitate a 60-minute workforce development class for residents.
- Career Coaching: Guide participants through essential career-readiness topics, including resume writing, job applications, and interview techniques.
- Collaborate for Success: Coordinate with the Workforce Development Manager to review established curriculum and prepare session materials.
- Foster an Inclusive Environment: Create a welcoming, respectful, and safe space where residents feel empowered to ask questions and refine their professional skills.
- Provide Consistent Support: Offer positive encouragement and mentorship throughout your weekly sessions to ensure a productive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in HR, recruiting, career coaching, or general business administration is highly valued.
- Passion for workforce development and supporting women in their pursuit of financial security.
- Ability to commit to one 1-hour class per week during business hours (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM).
- A friendly, patient, and professional demeanor.
