Volunteer SEO Specialist

Location: Remote (anywhere worldwide)

Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week (flexible)

We’re looking to level up our digital presence and would love for some SEO-savvy volunteers to join us! If you enjoy writing engaging blogs, optimizing WordPress sites, and helping organizations boost their online visibility, we’d love to have you on board.

In this role, you’ll help shape our strategy and make sure we’re getting the most out of our digital tools. Help us grow our reach and signups.

This role is all about research, strategy and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop SEO strategies to drive organic traffic and engagement
• Find the best keywords to help with optimization and for our content to stand out.
• Check the site for technical issues and fix them.
• Improve site speed, mobile responsiveness and internal linking to support crawlability and indexing.
• Help create simple, repeatable SEO best practices for our team
• Review Google Analytics data, identify opportunities for growth and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with the marketing team to build consistent content strategies.
• Collaborate with the IT team to provide SEO best practices and tips.

Requirements

• Strong understanding and experience in SEO analysis, SEO optimization, best practices and search engine algorithms
• Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc. and other SEO tools
• Familiarity with WordPress or similar CMS platforms for publishing content.
• Able to explain things simply to non-technical team and board members
• Organized and able to suggest practical improvements
• Can work independently without constant supervision and follow-up
• You can commit 5-10 hours per week

Bonus(optional but nice to have):

• Basic understanding of content strategy or blogging
• You have strong writing and editing skills
