Position Overview
Sahar Education is seeking a Fundraising Intern to support the planning and execution of our 2026 Fall Brunch Benefit, to be held in Seattle on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
This internship is a great opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, donor engagement, and global education. The role will be primarily remote, but the intern must be based in the Seattle area to assist with local auction donation collection and provide in-person support during the event.
The Fundraising Intern will work closely with Sahar Education staff and volunteers to help ensure a successful, well-organized, and inspiring benefit event.
Key Responsibilities
The Fundraising Intern will support the Fall Brunch Benefit through a mix of fundraising, outreach, logistics, and event support. Responsibilities may include:
- Researching and contacting local businesses for auction item donations and sponsorship opportunities
- Helping track auction donations, donor information, and follow-up communications
- Picking up or coordinating the collection of auction items from Seattle-area businesses
- Supporting event promotion through email, social media, and community outreach
- Assisting with guest list management, registration preparation, and event materials
- Helping organize auction packages, signage, and donor recognition materials
- Supporting volunteer coordination and day-of-event logistics
- Providing in-person assistance at the Seattle brunch benefit on October 3, 2026
- Completing follow-up tasks after the event, such as thank-you notes, auction wrap-up, and donor acknowledgments
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and excited to contribute to Sahar Education’s mission. Ideal candidates will have:
- Interest in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, international education, women’s rights, or community engagement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort reaching out to local businesses, donors, and community partners
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a mostly remote environment
- Reliability in meeting deadlines and following through on tasks
- Availability to attend and support the event in Seattle on Saturday, October 3, 2026
- Seattle-area location required
Prior fundraising, event, or nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.
Time Commitment
This is a part-time internship, with an estimated commitment of 5-10 hours a week from July 1st through October 31st, 2026, with some additional availability needed in the final weeks leading up to the event.
The intern must be available in person on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Location
This role is primarily remote, but applicants must be based in or near Seattle, Washington to assist with local donation collection and event execution.
Compensation
The position is unpaid, but we are happy to fill out forms for academic credit and/or write college recommendations based on your performance.
