Volunteer Opportunity: Friendly Visitor & Social Calls

Location: SW Harrison St. Portland, OR 97201

Schedule: Weekly (if possible), mornings or afternoons

Role Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable volunteer to provide social engagement and stimulation for Participant, an Elder Place participant. Activities may include friendly conversation, walks in the neighborhood, and possibly exploring the city by bus. (depends on situation)

About Participant:

Participant has significant vision impairment and moderate cognitive challenges. She can sometimes feel frustrated or overwhelmed and may act impulsively.

Ideal Volunteer:

• Friendly and outgoing
• Maintains good boundaries
• Has a sense of humor
• Can stay calm and grounded
• Communicates clearly and directly

Your presence can make a meaningful difference by reducing isolation and bringing joy to participant's day.
