Periodically, James River Hospice Fredericksburg offers mandatory in-service training for volunteers. All volunteers must participate in the training.

James River Hospice, Fredericksburg is in search of a few really good Friendly Visitor Volunteers to spend quality time with our patients in and around the Fredericksburg, VA area.
Friendly Visitor Volunteers see their assigned patient a minimum of 3 times a month for one hour or more per visit. While visiting with their patient, the Friendly Visitor Volunteer can play card or board games, take the patient outside for fresh air (weather permitting), watch classic tv or movies or you can quietly sit with your patient holding their hand to provide comfort and support.
