Cat and Kitten Care

Primarily responsible for helping care for the cats and kittens at FieldHaven's shelter.

• Provide daily food and fresh water according to FieldHaven’s feeding guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and living spaces, including litter boxes, bedding, and enrichment areas.
• Monitor cat behavior and well-being, noting any changes in appetite, mobility, mood, or appearance.
• Report health or behavior concerns promptly to staff so cats receive timely care.
• Assist with basic grooming, such as brushing, nail checks, or gentle cleaning when appropriate.
• Offer socialization and enrichment, including playtime, petting (when appropriate), and providing toys or stimulation.
• Help maintain a calm, low-stress environment by following safe-handling and stress-reduction practices.
• Support cleaning and organization of cat rooms, including sweeping, mopping, laundry, and restocking supplies.
• Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to protect both cats and volunteers.
• Assist with moving cats between rooms or areas under staff direction, ensuring safe handling and secure transport.
• Provide friendly communication

We need volunteers 7-days a week AM and PM shifts available. Time slots are 9-11 AM and 3-5 PM.
