Volunteer with Village in the Ville this winter season to help older adults in the Clintonville, Beechwold, and University District areas shovel their snow.
By shoveling their sidewalks, driveways, and steps, you can help ensure our aging neighbors can safely access our community this winter. Ensuring that our communities are safely accessible is fundamental to ensuring that our aging neighbors can age in place - that is, in their homes and our community - for as long as possible. So, if you're someone who enjoys the brisk winter weather and making a difference in your community, then this volunteer opportunity is for you!
After signing up to be a snow angel, you'll be matched with an older adult living in the Clintonville, Beechwold, or University District areas. (We will try our very best to match you with someone who lives close to you, though we can't guarantee it.) Once matched, we ask that you shovel your match's driveway, sidewalks, etc. whenever it snows more than two inches. Please note, this is a winter-long commitment, as we would like to ensure our older neighbors have someone to shovel their snow throughout the winter.
As a snow angel, you'll not only get the satisfaction of making a difference in your community by helping to ensure an older adult has safe accessibility to our community but the satisfaction of friendship as well. That's because you'll have the opportunity to really get to know your match as you help them throughout the winter season!
