Are you interested in supporting people through a difficult time? Geisinger Hospice is seeking volunteers to:
Patients come to Geisinger Hospice with a terminal illness, but their symptoms are controlled as much as possible so they can enjoy the time they have left — whether that is days, weeks, months or even years.
Volunteer candidates go through a “hiring” process that includes interviews, background checks, abuse clearances, drug screening and online and in-person training. Our volunteer manager is happy to help guide you through each step of the process.
If you’re a compassionate person with time to share, this type of volunteering can bring rich rewards. You’ll meet inspiring people, hear great stories and bring joy to patients and family who are going through a difficult phase of their life. It is an amazing feeling to know you can brighten someone’s life simply by offering the gifts you already have inside you.
