iPub, ipubcloud.org, is a 501(c)3 non-profit publisher. Our mission is to elevate stories and ideas that build bridges between communities, cultures, generations, and perspectives through books, children’s literature, fiction, nonfiction, memoir, and educational works.
Role Overview
Volunteer 15 - 20 hrs/month. Work remotely from home. Flexible hours. Weekly 40-60 minute Zoom calls held 1X weekly in the afternoons eastern time zone. Assist our Volunteer Services team by helping us to recruit, onboard and support a variety of creative and talented "remote" volunteers e.g. proofreaders, editors, translators, grant researchers, bloggers, from around the world.
Ideal for professional with at least 1-2 years of paid or unpaid event organizing/inviting/engaging/or recruiting-related experience. Place volunteer posting notices on job boards. Review incoming resumes and background summaries. Update applicant and volunteer data-base for status and assignments. Correspond/communicate with new and current volunteers from around the world regarding their status and volunteer experience.
Key Skills & Tools
Familiar with Google Drive tools and use e.g. Google Sheets, Folders, GMAIL, Calendar. Familiar with MS-Word.
Effective communication skills in English and writing.
Previous experience in inviting people to participate, staffing, placement /attracting volunteers for a group, club, events, staffing, or HR etc. Basic familiarity with EEO and multicultural sensitivity.
Communicate with remote volunteers from multiple countries around the world.
