Volunteer Role: Be the Face of Our Safe Space

Are you the person who lights up a room and loves to start real conversations? Excellent. We need you.

Our Safe Space US is looking for a warm, outgoing Tucson-area volunteer to represent us at local networking events, community gatherings, BBB events, and nonprofit or business functions when our Founder can’t attend.

If you fall in love with us and want to join the Board? Well, that would be fantabulous.

You won’t be expected to give formal presentations or know every detail about the organization. You show up, meet people, share what we do, make genuine connections, and help more of Southern Arizona discover Our Safe Space.

About Us

Our Safe Space is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in Tucson in 2024. We provide free workshops, book clubs, creative programs, wellness activities, discussion groups, social events, and community service opportunities.

Our community includes more than 900 members, primarily women and LGBTQ+ community members, along with anyone seeking positive opportunities for personal growth, connection, and self-discovery.

What You’ll Do

• Attend occasional local networking and community events
• Introduce people to Our Safe Space and explain what we offer
• Build relationships with businesses, nonprofits, facilitators, and potential community partners
• Collect contact information and share promising connections with our team
• Represent Our Safe Space with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm
• Distribute flyers, brochures, or business cards as it makes sense
• Give us a quick recap after each event so we know whom you met and what may be worth pursuing

You Might Be a Great Fit If You Are

• A natural connector who enjoys meeting new people
• Reliable and willing to attend events independently
• Comfortable representing an inclusive organization
• Able to talk about our mission in a clear, conversational way
• Familiar with Tucson and interested in building stronger local connections
• Someone who can be enthusiastic without sounding like a salesperson

You do not need nonprofit experience. You do need good judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to make people feel welcome.

Time Commitment

Approximately two to six hours per month, depending on available events and your schedule.

Opportunities will take place in the Tucson area. You can choose which events fit your availability. Some may be during business hours, while others may be early evening.

• Talking points, printed materials, and business cards
• Clear information before each event
• Support from our Founder and volunteer team
• The freedom to sound like yourself, not a walking brochure

Our Safe Space is growing, and more local organizations are beginning to notice us. We need someone who can help us show up consistently, build relationships, and make sure people understand who we are and what we bring to the community.
