Join Pierce Conservation District for the 2026 Native Plant Walk-Up Sale on Saturday, March 14th and play a key role in getting native plants out to the community and into Pierce County soils. The annual Native Plant Sale is a critical resource providing Pierce County residents access to affordable, healthy, and resilient native plants.
Interested volunteers can choose between three (3) positions across two (2) shifts.
Shifts
- AM: 10:00 AM - 1:15 PM
- PM: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Volunteer Positions
- Parking Supervisor: Responsible for directing traffic flow within the parking lot to prevent congestion. Requires the ability to stand for a long period of time and walk continuously on concrete surfaces. A seat will be provided to rest during slow periods of traffic flow.
- 2 Parking Attendants per shift
- Walk-Up Sale Runner: Responsible for writing down customers' orders as they select plants, as well as carrying and transporting restock plants in wheelbarrows from the warehouse to the sale area. Requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods on concrete surfaces, lift approximately 30 lbs, and maneuver a heavy wheelbarrow.
- 3 Walk-Up Sale Runners per shift
- Warehouse Runner: As presale customers arrive to pick up their plants, Warehouse Runners will take the customer name, locate the order, and deliver to the customer with instructions on where to proceed for additional support. Requires the ability to stand and walk on concrete for extended periods, lift approximately 30 lbs, and maneuver wheelbarrows, if necessary.
