We are looking for a bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records for our nonprofit organization. This position requires approximately 1–2 hours of work per week.
We are seeking candidates with a strong working knowledge of QuickBooks who are equally passionate about supporting our mission and values. Please note that we are unable to provide training for QuickBooks proficiency at this time.
Applicants must be located in the United States to be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and categorize all financial transactions in QuickBooks (e.g., income, expenses, donations)
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
- Assist with preparing basic monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the board and executive director
- Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and receipts
- Help with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, if needed
- Maintain accurate records for tax purposes and assist with year-end audits as needed
- Assist participants with payments and balance inquiries, if needed
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Working knowledge and at least six months of experience with Quickbooks
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Passion for supporting the nonprofit's mission and goals.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or finance (volunteer or professional) is preferred.
