Be the Bright Spot in Someone's Day! - Hearts and Hands (Amherst)

Hearts and Hands connects caring volunteers with older adults by providing transportation, in-home support, and caregiver respite to uphold their dignity, improve their quality of life, and enhance their ability to live in their home of choice and assist their primary caregivers.

You can help your neighbor remain independent by spending as little as two hours a month providing them a ride to their medical appointment, grocery store, or to run errands. Transportation volunteers spend time with a neighbor having friendly conversation while helping them get to appointments. Time spent helps your neighbor to feel less lonely and isolated, and is a great way for them to continue connecting with the community.

Select requests that fit your schedule and interests. Volunteering is flexible!

Volunteer Coordinators handle all of the arrangements.

Supplemental insurance coverage and mileage reimbursement are provided.

How do you get started?

Simply fill out our online application at volunteerhnh.org, attend a 1-hour training with your local office (or virtually), submit your background check, and in about two weeks you can start your meaningful experience with Hearts and Hands. For additional information call (716) 406-8311 ext. 102.
