Role Overview

The Director of Programs is a strategic, mission‑driven leader who oversees program quality, partnership expansion, and cross‑team coordination. This volunteer strengthens new and existing relationships with nonprofit, education, business, and government partners — ensuring Outcome School’s programs remain impactful, accessible, and aligned with community needs.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in workforce development, partnership building, employer engagement, apprenticeship initiatives, or program leadership. You’ll collaborate closely with Outcome School’s professional and student developers to identify innovative ways technology can drive equity, opportunity, and long‑term mobility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Leadership & Strategy

• Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Outcome School’s tech and workforce programs.
• Ensure programs are youth‑centered, equitable, and aligned with industry expectations.
• Collaborate with instructors, mentors, and career coaches to maintain high‑quality learning experiences.
• Identify opportunities to innovate using technology to strengthen student outcomes and community impact.

1. Partnership Development & External Relations

• Strengthen new and existing relationships with nonprofits, schools, workforce agencies, businesses, and government partners.
• Represent Outcome School in meetings, collaborations, and community events.
• Build partnerships that expand access, increase enrollment, and create pathways to apprenticeships and employment.
• Maintain consistent communication with partners to ensure alignment, trust, and long‑term collaboration.

1. Employer Engagement & Apprenticeship Pipeline Growth

• Connect with employers interested in hiring emerging tech talent or hosting apprentices.
• Share program outcomes, student skill sets, and partnership opportunities with employer partners.
• Support initiatives that strengthen employer pipelines and create pathways to long‑term career success.
• Help coordinate employer participation in panels, mentorship, hiring events, and apprenticeship collaborations.

1. Cross‑Team Collaboration & Innovation

• Work closely with Outcome School’s professional and student developers to explore new ways tech can drive social impact.
• Support the creation of tools, platforms, or workflows that improve program delivery and student experience.
• Encourage a culture of creativity, experimentation, and mission‑aligned innovation.

1. Program Operations & Quality Assurance

• Monitor program metrics, student outcomes, partner engagement, and operational workflows.
• Identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for improvement across programs.
• Ensure documentation, communication, and coordination remain organized and efficient.
• Contribute to a culture of operational excellence, transparency, and continuous learning.
