Make a meaningful difference in a child's life by becoming a mentor and helping them overcome reading challenges. Join the YMCA of Collier County's Y Reads! after school program and discover how rewarding this program truly is to our mentors and students.
By dedicating just a few hours per week, you can make a profound impact on a child's literacy journey. As a Y Reads! mentor, you'll have the opportunity to work with students in small groups, fostering their self-confidence and enhancing their academic abilities. Some of the mentors read to the students, others play enrichment games to help with sight words, while others enjoy teaching the curriculum Y Reads! uses. The Coordintator of the program will gladly place you where you shine!
No previous experience required! VOLUNTEERS MUST BE AT LEAST AGE 16 WITH A DRIVER'S LICENSE. All volunteers will be trained by the on-site Y Reads! Coordinator. After school program hours: Monday - Thursday 2:30pm -5:00 PM You choose what day(s) work(s) for you!
