Silverado Hospice has an ongoing need for volunteers to offer comfort and companionship during the end of life process. Volunteers act as an additional support system for patients and/or their families through the process. Volunteers will visit their patients and it will look different depending on preference. Volunteers can do anything such as reading to/with the patient, watching television, playing music or an instrument for the patient, doing some kind of arts and crafts activity, or other mentally stimulating activity, or even just keeping them company. Visits will be about 1 hour, 2-4x a month per patient. Additionally, volunteers will receive training so each volunteer can feel confident. Most of the patients are in a facility, but some of them are also at home. We currently need volunteers throughout Orange County but more so the following cities:
Laguna Niguel
Huntington Beach
Santa Ana
Tustin
Costa Mesa
San Juan Capistrano

The office is located in Irvine, but the patients will be anywhere throughout Orange County.
