Library Foundation Seeks Board Membership

If you love visiting the Westerville Public Library and enjoy giving back to your community, join the Westerville Library Foundation Board of Trustees! We’re a great group of volunteers with a passion for supporting our incredible public library. Our mission is to secure the future of the library through endowment management and special projects focused on emerging technologies, civic and community resources, 21st century learning, and literacy achievement.

Board members serve for three-year terms and are directly involved in the organization’s fundraising efforts. We’d like to hear from community members and professionals with experience in:

• Marketing/sales
• Fundraising
• Event planning
• Law
• Technology
• Education
• Finance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend monthly meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month
• Serve on at least one committee (e.g. Donor Relations, Special Events)
• Review and vote on organizational policies, budgets, and strategic plans
• Act as an ambassador for the organization within the community
• Support fundraising and development efforts

QUALIFICATIONS

• Reside within the central Ohio area with preference given to those living in the Westerville City School District
• Desire to serve in a board leadership position
• Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and values
• Strong communication and collaborative decision-making skills
• Prior nonprofit board or community leadership experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to leverage personal and professional networks in support of the organization
